UK's first law enforcement data adequacy decision since leaving EU sees Bailiwick of Guernsey's strong privacy laws recognised

The UK government has agreed its first law enforcement data adequacy decision since leaving the EU. The decision relates to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and it will enable personal data to be transferred more freely between UK law enforcement and Bailiwick of Guernsey law enforcement. The EFCB welcomes the UK’s data adequacy decision and thanks the Data Protection Team within the States of Guernsey for their valuable contribution.
The EFCB looks forward to working closely with its UK counterparts to combat economic and financial crime. The data adequacy decision comes into force on 28th July 2023.
